Investigators have identified the NSA officers who carried out the cyber attack on Northwestern Polytechnic University, according to an engineer at cyber security technical center.
Chinese investigators say they have successfully identified U.S. National Security Agency officials allegedly involved in last year’s cyber attack on China’s top aviation university, state media reported Thursday.
“With the concerted efforts of industry partners from multiple countries, our joint investigation has achieved a breakthrough. The true identity of the NSA (National Security Agency) staff who launched the cyber attack on the Northwestern Polytechnical University has been successfully identified.”
Northwestern Polytechnic University is famous for its research in aviation, aerospace and navigation. In June 2022, the university reported a cyber attack from overseas. Last September, China accused a U.S. spy agency of orchestrating the cyber attack.
