Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France marched again on Saturday to protest against Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, with protesters demanding an end to “terrorist” actions against Palestinians.
In the Italian capital, Rome, outside the iconic Colosseum amphitheatre, hundreds of people gathered on Avenida Fori Imperiali, despite heavy rain, to express their condemnation of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and call for an end to the genocide against Palestinians, as well as to express support for Palestine and its people.
In Austria, Vienna, demonstrators gathered on the Mariahilfer Strasse with Palestinian flags as well as banners reading: “Stop Genocide,” “Free Gaza,” and “Israel, the terrorist.”
Thousands of people in Geneva, Switzerland turned out for the march in solidarity with the Palestinians, gathering at Parc Des Cropettes Square and then marching through the city centre for several hours.
The march, which lasted about two hours and took place under heavy police security measures, ended in front of the UN office in Geneva.
In France, Paris, a march demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza took place despite heavy rain.
Pro-Palestinian supporters gathered at the famous Place de la République and marched to Place de la Nation, demanding an immediate ceasefire and an end to racism and xenophobia.
The flags read: “No to Israel’s Fascist Model” chanted slogans such as “The children of Gaza, the children of Palestine, humanity is being killed” and “We should show the door not to Muslims or immigrants but to those who govern us.”
In Berlin, a demonstration gathered in the Invalides Park in the Mitte district under the slogan “Stop this war around the world”, where protesters condemned Israel’s attacks on Gaza.
Demonstrators marched through the city centre chanting slogans such as “Why is the world silent while Israel kills people,” “Netanyahu is committing genocide, the world is watching,” “Freedom for Palestine,” and “Cease-fire now.”
Almost since the beginning of the conflict, on 7 October, every week there have been rallies in support of the Palestinian population of Gaza, which has suffered more than 28,000 casualties, mostly women and children, dead and 66,630 injured, according to Palestinian health authorities.
