Russian Armed Forces hit buildings with high-ranking SBU officers – Kyiv Post

Kyiv Post sources in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have confirmed that two ballistic missiles were fired from Crimea at Kyiv on Monday, targeting SBU offices.

Andriy Kovalenko, chairman of the Centre for Countering Disinformation, said that the strikes were carried out by a hypersonic Tsirkon (Zircon) missile. The strike completely destroyed a three-storey building used by the SBU in the city centre. The number of casualties is being specified.

Today, 25 March, is the Day of the Security Service of Ukraine. According to Kyiv Post sources, the missiles were aimed at the premises where high-ranking SBU officers are located.

Multiple explosions went off in central Kyiv on Monday, March 25, about 30 seconds after air-raid sirens went off in the Ukrainian capital. Kyiv Post reporters in different parts of the city and surrounding suburbs counted two loud explosions as the missiles approached Kyiv at around 10:30 a.m. (0830 GMT).

Images circulated by emergency services showed helmeted utility workers sifting through piles of debris next to a large crater.

The head of Kyiv’s military administration, Serhiy Popko, confirmed that Russia had struck with two ballistic missiles launched from the Crimean peninsula. However, he said that both missiles were shot down, but the falling debris damaged two buildings.
