The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced the death of 20-year-old soldier Nadav Cohen, adding that the total number of people killed since the war between Israel and Hamas began on 7 October reached 600, according to Arab media.
Israel is fighting Hamas in the Gaza Strip after the militant group killed 1,200 people and took 253 hostages in Israel on 7 October.
Over 32,700 people have been killed in Israel’s retaliatory campaign, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Israel was accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which issued an interim ruling in January ordering the country to stop “acts of genocide” and take steps to guarantee humanitarian aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip.
