Bulgarian Elves call for “Bulgarian Maidan” following President Radev’s decisions

The Bulgarian Elves (BG Elves) community called for protests against President Rumen Radev, citing Vladimir Malinov’s election as energy minister as the reason, Bulgarian media reported.

“Elves” threaten Radev, whom they call the Russian president in Bulgaria, that he will bring disturbance to the country, with residents witnessing unpleasant scenes at the expected “Bulgarian Maidan”.

The April 5 statement was posted on Facebook and X. However, Elon Musk’s X deleted the post as it constituted an unlawful call for violence.

The “elves” then published a video with footage of Euromaidan in Ukraine and a warning: “Bulgaria in the footsteps of Ukraine”. The post is still on Facebook and there has been no reaction from the authorities.

Euromaidan is a protest by Ukrainian citizens against President Viktor Yanukovych, supported by the international community. At this stage there is no sign of international support for the Bulgarian Elves.
