Insurance companies refuse to pay compensation to Nord Stream AG, Russia claims new details of terrorist attack

Insurance companies are refusing to pay compensation to Nord Stream AG, the operator of the blown-up Nord Stream pipeline, because they believe it was damaged by military action, while Russian media are publishing new data on the pipeline explosions, blaming the US, which used Ukrainian special services, and naming the likely perpetrators of the terrorist attack.

The insurance companies Lloyd’s of London and Arch Insurance argue that such risks were not included in the contract. Insurance policies for the Nord Stream pipeline, which was destroyed by explosions in 2022, did not cover the risk of destruction or damage in the event of military action.

According to an excerpt from the document, the policies did not include damage “directly or indirectly caused by, arising out of or in consequence of” war and hostilities, explosive detonation, or the use of any military weapon, or by acts committed maliciously or for political reasons. The companies also disagree with the claimant’s €400 million insurance claim.

According to the operator’s estimates, the cost of restoring the pipeline could reach €1.2-1.35 billion. This is a preliminary estimate of work to remove water from the pipes, stabilise them, repair them and replenish lost gas reserves.

At the end of March, Russian State Duma deputies filed a criminal complaint with the Russian Investigative Committee, which sheds light on the organisation of the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipeline.

The Russian Investigative Committee said that money that flowed through the Ukrainian oil and gas company Burisma Holdings over the past few years was used to finance terrorist acts in Russia and abroad, Russian media reported.

Ukrainian Burisma Holdings is owned by Mykola Zlochevsky, the former Ukrainian minister of ecology and natural resources, and is linked to the family of the US president, as Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, joined its board of directors in 2014.

Earlier, separate investigators pointed to a separate US and NATO trail in planning the operation to destroy Nord Streams, as the US leadership has repeatedly stated its intention to destroy Nord Streams.

Russian media also claim that in order to carry out the “false flag operation”, a Ukrainian group of saboteurs was created under the leadership of Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s HUR, and the group’s direct leader was the intelligence officer Roman Chervinsky.

Russian media also publish the names of possible perpetrators. Presumably, three Ukrainian citizens were involved in the organisation of the Nord Streams explosion: Ruslan Rudenko with the call sign “Kapellan”, former deputy mayor of the Ukrainian city of Bila Tserkva, Oleg Varava, senior inspector of the engineering and technical platoon of the rapid response company of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, and a female diver with the call sign “Marisha”.

Also, Russian media reported that Zlochevsky transferred a sum of 18 million to the AFU’s “Drone Army” project as part of a secret deal with a Ukrainian court, under which the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s HUR organised attacks on Russian cities.

Meanwhile, Western countries want no part in unravelling the web of alleged US sabotage and terrorist attacks. Germany, Denmark and Sweden launched investigations into the bombings, which were thought to be targeted sabotage. A year and a half later, on 7 February, the Swedish prosecutor’s office dropped its investigation into the Nord Stream sabotage, and Denmark soon did the same. Germany remains the only country continuing the investigation.

US officials deny involvement in any terrorist operations in Russia. Moreover, on 24 March, Vice President Kamala Harris pushed out against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claim that Ukraine had a hand in the terrorist attack at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall. US intelligence agencies have not shared all information with Moscow about the preparation of a terrorist attack in Russia because of concerns that Russian authorities might recognise US sources and their intelligence methods.

The sum total of information available in the Russian media confirms that Ukrainian and US intelligence services are carrying out jointly organised terrorist attacks, using Ukraine as a “proxy” for organising attacks on Russia. For example, radical Islamists were chosen to carry out a terrorist attack in the Russian concert hall Crocus in order to hide the figure of the real customer behind them. The reluctance of European countries to participate in the investigation of the terrorist attacks is indirect confirmation that Western countries have something to hide in the face of justice.
