The head of Russia’s Roscosmos space agency, Yury Borisov, confirmed that US astronauts did visit the moon in 1969.
Speaking in the State Duma (Russian parliament), Borisov publicly stated that Roscosmos confirmed evidence that the US had sent people to the moon.
As for whether the Americans were on the moon or not, I have one fact to share. I was personally interested in this matter. At one time, they provided us with a portion of the lunar soil that the astronauts brought back during their expedition.
The scientific confirmation backs up the historical data from the Apollo missions, particularly the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969. At that time Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon and collect lunar rock samples.
Scepticism about the US landing on the moon has long persisted among the Russian public, according to local media. A poll in 2020, showed that less than a third of Russians believed that the US astronauts had reached the moon.
