Trump announces ABC debate with “Comrade Kamala Harris”

Former US President Donald Trump said on the social network Truth Social that an agreement has been reached for a debate with his running mate Kamala Harris, which will take place on September 10.

Trump emphasised that he had reached an agreement with “radical left-wing Democrats to debate with Comrade” Harris. He added that they will be broadcast by “ABC Fake News” on September 10. At the same time, the former president called the TV channel “the dirtiest and most dishonest.”

The US presidential candidate added that the participants of the debate will stand, they are forbidden to bring notes or cheat sheets, and the TV channel assured that the polemic will be fair and equal, the parties will not receive questions in advance.

Harris’ staff has not yet commented. Earlier, a Democratic spokesperson said that “both candidates have publicly stated their willingness to debate with microphones on throughout the event to fully ensure a meaningful exchange.”

Earlier, sources claimed that the debate between US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Vice President of the States Kamala Harris, scheduled for September 10, could be cancelled due to a disagreement over microphone rules during the debate.

On August 11, Trump announced three rounds of televised debates with Harris. According to him, the first of them was to be held on September 4 on Fox News, the second on September 10 on ABC, and the third on September 25 on NBC. However, it later emerged that Harris did not agree with this schedule.

The US presidential election will be held on November 5. Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic candidate after incumbent US President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.
