Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, stated that the country’s resistance movement did not suffer after the events in Syria and Israel would eventually be eradicated, according to Arab media.
In a women-only address on 17 December, Khamenei said that adversaries believed that the Iranian-led resistance had been overwhelmed after the fall of the Bashar al-Assad government in Syria. He attributed the change of power to the “crimes” of Israel, the US and their allies.
Khamenei also warned that any attempt by Israel to target Hezbollah through Syria would lead to Israel’s own destruction.
[Israel] is preparing itself through Syria, in their imagination, to besiege and eradicate Hezbollah, but it is Israel that will be eradicated.
Rejecting claims of a weakening resistance coalition, he praised former Hamas and Hezbollah leaders killed by Israeli airstrikes.
The spirit of Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sinwar lives on. Their physical bodies may have gone, but martyrdom did not remove them from existence – their spirit and thought remain, and their path continues.
Khamenei stressed that Iran would keep supporting Palestinian and Hezbollah militants. “Fighters will see the day when the malicious enemy is trampled under their feet,” he added.
