British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in his Christmas message on Monday wished the subjects of the United Kingdom peace, especially in the Middle East.
Speaking in his Christmas Day address to Britons, the Prime Minister said:
“This Christmas, I will be hoping for peace, particularly in the Middle East as the birthplace of the Christmas story. I’ll be looking towards a better, brighter future for every person and celebrating the joy and wonder that Christmas brings. So, from my family to yours, I hope you have a very merry Christmas.”
He added that he was especially grateful to those who will spend Christmas serving others. Meaning medics, military personnel, employees of charitable organisations and church workers.
Starmer sought to lift the spirits of fellow citizens and create a “more optimistic” outlook for 2025.
On December 25, the prime minister will be at his countryside official residence Chequers, north-west of London, for the festive period. He is scheduled to make a short trip abroad over the New Year holidays, but the exact destination has not been disclosed by the prime minister’s office.
