US President-elect Donald Trump has published a map showing Canada and the United States of America as a single state and coloured in the colours of the American flag. He posted the image on his Truth Social page.
Trump signed the image on his Truth Social: “Oh Canada!”
On a second map, the Canadian territory is labelled “United States.” Neighbouring Mexico is marked in a different colour, only its northern part is visible.
Earlier, Trump several times referred to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the governor of the “great state of Canada.”
In December, the politician proposed to consider the possibility of including Canada in the United States as the 51st state and offered in this case to reduce the taxes of residents by 60 per cent.
Trump also said that uniting the countries would eliminate trade tariffs and guarantee Ottawa complete security from alleged threats from Russian and Chinese ships that allegedly constantly surround them.
Last November, he proposed imposing a 25 per cent duty on goods from Canada and Mexico if the countries failed to address illegal migration and drug smuggling.
On December 25, Donald Trump promised Canada more than double its tax cuts if it agreed to become another US state. Yesterday, amid Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s resignation, he reiterated the unification proposal. Trudeau responded that there was “no chance of that happening.”
US entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk has mocked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s refusal to US President-elect Trump to make Canada the 51st US state and called Trudeau a girl. Musk wrote on X:
“Girl, you’re not the governor of Canada anymore, so it doesn’t matter what you say.”
