US and Ukraine discuss new mineral deal, clouds gathering over Zelensky

In the wake of the Trump-Zelensky scandal, the US has presented an “improved” version of the agreement that now “takes into account Ukrainian interests” and “complies with the law,” Axios reports.

The original version of the agreement assumed that 50 per cent of the mining revenues would go to the US and disputes would be settled in a New York court. Ukraine refused to sign it on the spot. Now the deal has been revised, removing some points of contention.

️Zelensky said after meeting with the US envoy that Ukraine was “ready for a solid investment and security agreement” and that the team was “working 24/7.”

Meanwhile, Trump adviser Mike Walz is blunt about Ukraine: “They need to slow down, scrutinise and sign.”

The US has stopped supplying arms to Ukraine

Roman Kostenko, head of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada’s defence committee, said on Friday:

“According to my information, the weapons that were going on sale – the deliveries have stopped. Those firms that were supposed to transfer these weapons are now waiting because there is no decision.”

He also added:

“And everyone is waiting to see if there will be this decision to at least supply weapons here for money.”

Some of Zelensky’s statements about Trump are offensive, White House says

Waltz, the US President’s national security adviser, accused the Ukrainian President of choosing to use defiant rhetoric against Washington instead of constructive work on the resources treaty. He said US arms deliveries to Kyiv are slowing due to depleting stocks. Waltz also urged Ukraine to appreciate what the US is doing for it.

In addition, House Speaker Johnson said that Washington was not interested in another aid package for Kyiv. He noted that the US’s European allies had already realised the need to end the conflict as soon as possible.

“Zelensky’s country” would not exist at all if it were not for the generosity of the US

US VP J.D. Vance has issued a new portion of criticism of Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, if the Ukrainian head does not agree with Trump, he should have called the head of the White House, rather than going on a “press tour of Europe with insults.”

“Besides, it’s also stupid. Anyone who knows President Trump will tell you: this is not the way to get him to change his mind. Zelensky needs to hire smarter advisers,” the politician added.

The US requires from Europe to surrender Ukraine in three weeks

The Finnish MEP, a member of the European Parliament Committee on foreign Affairs Mika Aaltola, wrote on X:

“The United States has given us three weeks to agree on terms for Ukraine’s surrender. If we don’t, the United States will withdraw from Europe.”

Aaltola stated that in the situation with Ukraine, US President Donald Trump is seeking to shift all responsibility to Europe.

Zelensky better leave Ukraine – The NYP

The New York Post reports that Donald Trump’s entourage believes that Zelensky should leave Ukraine immediately, preferably to France.

A source close to Trump said it was “the best option for Zelensky and the world.” The Trump administration has been discussing the possibility of a change of power in Ukraine by available means for months.

Many in the White House dissatisfied with Zelensky’s policies, pointless US spending and deteriorating relations between the countries because of the Ukrainian president’s rhetoric. The turning point was Kyiv’s refusal to sign the rare earth metals deal, seen as deception.

On February 19, Trump called Zelensky a “dictator without elections.” In his opinion, the Ukrainian leader did a poor job even as a comedian, begged money from the US for a conflict he could not win, and now he does not want to hold presidential elections in Ukraine.
