Former US First Lady Michelle Obama commented on Thursday on rumours of her divorce from former US President Barack Obama, which have been actively discussed since the beginning of the year.
In the popular podcast Work in Progress with Sophia Bush, she explained that her behaviour in public does not depend on family disagreements. The public suspected something amiss due to the fact that Michelle began to accompany her husband less often at public events. This became especially noticeable when she did not come to the inauguration of Donald Trump and at the farewell to former President Jimmy Carter.
The scandal gained momentum when rumours about Barack Obama’s romantic connection with actress Jennifer Aniston surfaced. The “Friends” star herself categorically denied these speculations on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, saying that she has a closer relationship with Michelle, not her husband.
The Express Tribune published a correspondence from one of Aniston’s friends, fuelling interest in the story. The publication claims that the actress herself let it slip to her friends about her affair with Barack, who then started actively gossiping.
However, Obama herself assures: her absence is due to a difficult period in her life, including the death of her mother. She emphasised that people are used to seeing a woman next to her husband and automatically assume a breakdown in the relationship if it does not happen.
In turn, the former president posted a touching post on social networks, where he called his wife “the love of his life,” accompanying the record with a photo of them together.
