Musk confirms 2025 India visit after Modi call

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and a leading US entrepreneur, has confirmed plans to visit India later this year. The announcement followed his recent phone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where they discussed opportunities for collaboration in technology and innovation.

Posting on social media platform X, Musk wrote, “I am looking forward to visiting India later this year!” He also said it was “an honour” to speak with Prime Minister Modi.

This development comes at a time when India and the United States are strengthening ties in high-tech sectors. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s dedication to expanding these partnerships.

He shared on X, “Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains.”

Musk and Modi previously met in Washington DC earlier this year. During that visit, Modi also held talks with then-US President Donald Trump and senior US officials. Musk attended the meeting with members of his family.

Their renewed conversation comes just ahead of US Vice President JD Vance’s visit to India, scheduled for 21–24 April. The timing also coincides with ongoing India-US discussions on a potential bilateral trade agreement, which began after Modi’s February meeting with President Trump at the White House.
