US airstrikes killed 12 people in Yemen’s capital

Yemen’s Houthis said that at least 12 people were killed by airstrikes that the US military carried out on Monday night on the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

Another 30 people were injured in the strikes. According to the Houthis, in addition to Sanaa, the US military also struck the provinces of Marib, Amran, Hodeidah and Saada.

Earlier, the media reported on the US strikes in Yemen on Sunday night. The Houthis claimed two casualties and 11 injured.

Last week, the US struck the Yemeni oil port of Ras Isa, killing at least 74 people and injuring 171 others, according to the Houthis.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked Israel. In response, Israel launched a military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, this led to the Houthis stepping up attacks in the region.

On March 15 this year, US President Donald Trump said that he had ordered the US military to launch heavy strikes against the Houthis. Since then, the US military has been attacking Houthi-held areas of Yemen almost every day.
