Man held over suspected arson attacks on property linked to Starmer

London police have arrested a suspect in connection with a series of arson attacks, including one at a house belonging to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the police press service said on Tuesday.

Police said a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a series of arson attacks after a fire at a house belonging to Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Earlier, a fire broke out at the home of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The front door of the building was damaged as a result. No one was injured in the incident. The prime minister’s home, where he lived for almost 20 years before moving to Downing Street, is located on Countess Road in north London.

Later that day, London police launched an investigation into the incident. Law enforcement officers cordoned off the building until the investigation was completed.

In a statement, police said: “As a precaution and due to the property having previous connections with a high-profile public figure, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation into this fire.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish what caused it. All three fires are being treated as suspicious at this time, and enquiries remain ongoing.”
