Kim Kardashian is set to return to Paris to testify a decade after she confronted men who police say robbed her, restrained her with zip ties and held her at gunpoint, according to AP News.
Kardashian is expected to confront 10 men accused of orchestrating the 2016 robbery, which left her locked in a marble bathroom. The masked assailants reportedly escaped with more than $6 million worth of jewellery.
Court officials are preparing for her attendance at the trial, which began last month. Security will be reinforced while a second courtroom will be opened for journalists to follow the proceedings via video link.
Kardashian’s lawyers said she felt “particularly grateful” to French authorities and confirmed her appearance in court despite her alleged agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder that results in a fear of crowds.
She has tremendous appreciation and admiration for the French judicial system.
Twelve suspects were initially charged, but one died and another was exempted from the proceedings due to a severe illness. Authorities describe them as an experienced and coordinated criminal group, despite the fact that most of them are aged between 60 and 70.
Two of the defendants admitted to being at the scene of the crime, but the others deny involvement, with some claiming they had no idea who Kardashian was.
