A Lufthansa flight bound for Hyderabad, India, returned to Frankfurt Airport on Sunday evening after receiving a bomb threat during the flight, German police confirmed on Monday.
Flight LH752, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, landed safely at Frankfurt Airport at around 6:30 p.m. local time (4:30 p.m. GMT) on Sunday, public broadcaster HR reported.
The incident caused panic among relatives of passengers who were waiting for the flight to arrive in Hyderabad. The RGI airport administration confirmed the incident.
A passenger on board the aircraft told PTI from Frankfurt airport that they had been provided with overnight accommodation as their flight had been rescheduled for Monday morning.
Authorities have not disclosed how or where the message was received, citing an ongoing investigation.
The flight was scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad at 1:20 a.m. local time on Monday (7:50 p.m. GMT on Sunday).
