North Korea fires over 10 rockets near Pyongyang

North Korea fired about 10 artillery shells towards the Yellow Sea on Thursday, Korean media reported on Thursday.

The shells were fired from an area near Pyongyang at around 4:00 a.m. These missiles could reach Seoul and surrounding areas.

South Korean military officials believe that short-range ballistic missiles were launched. Pyongyang has not yet commented on the reports.

This launch is the latest in a series of weapons tests conducted by Pyongyang amid growing tensions in the region.

Last year, North Korea tested a similar system with new guidance technology.

On May 22, South Korean military officials said that North Korea had launched two cruise missiles towards the Sea of Japan. On May 8, the DPRK conducted tests of short-range ballistic missiles.
