The celebrations for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, dubbed the “wedding of the century,” kicked off in Venice on Friday.
The wedding of one of the richest men in the world, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and his fiancée, TV presenter and businesswoman Lauren Sánchez, is planned in Italy on June 26-28. The wedding itself will take place away from the cameras and at an undisclosed location, but before that, the newlyweds held a pre-wedding party in Venice, which ended early due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The celebration, attended by dozens of celebrities, took place at the Madonna dell’Orto church in Venice. Among the guests were Leonardo DiCaprio with his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, Orlando Bloom, singer Ellie Goulding and journalist Oprah Winfrey.
While the public is still waiting to see the wedding dress of the richest bride, Lauren Sánchez, Bezos’s chosen one has already shown the dress she chose for her pre-wedding party. Lauren chose a midi dress with open shoulders from Schiaparelli’s 2025 couture collection, embroidered with a pattern of green and blue flowers and the fashion house’s signature “eyes.”
The local airport in Venice will welcome 90 private jets carrying 250 guests, including show business stars, politicians and businessmen. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have spent around $50 million on their upcoming wedding.
The famous guests will stay at five-star hotels in Venice: Aman, The Gritti Palace, Cipriani, as well as the Aman Venice hotel, owned by Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin. Two three-star hotels located near the Madonna dell’Orto church have been booked for the 150-person wedding party staff. Lauren Sánchez will change into 27 outfits by Dolce & Gabbana during the ceremony.
