Israeli military operations across Gaza since early Friday claimed at least 37 Palestinian lives, medical sources confirmed to Anadolu.
Among the dead are 15 civilians killed while waiting for humanitarian aid near the al-Tahlia roundabout in eastern Khan Younis. The attack also left 90 injured in one of the deadliest single incidents.
In al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, eight Palestinians died when Israeli forces struck a displacement shelter near Tiba Towers. Eyewitnesses reported most victims belonged to a single family whose tent suffered a direct hit. Nearby, three others perished near the British field hospital. Further airstrikes on Khan Younis’ beachfront killed four civilians sheltering in tents.
Concurrently, artillery shelling targeted displacement camps in Rafah’s al-Mawasi district, causing additional casualties according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
In central Gaza, an overnight raid on a residence in al-Bureij refugee camp killed four. Southern Gaza City witnessed three more fatalities after a family home in al-Sabra neighbourhood was struck. Israeli forces also demolished multiple residential buildings in northern Khan Younis.
These attacks follow Thursday’s reporting of over 100 Palestinian deaths across Gaza, including 51 killed during aid distribution. The escalating violence occurs despite international ceasefire demands.
Palestinian health authorities report more than 57,100 fatalities since October 2023, labelling Israel’s campaign a “genocidal war.”
