New strikes on Gaza Strip claim more lives

As a result of a series of Israeli attacks carried out early this morning in various areas of the Gaza Strip, at least 26 Palestinians, including children, have been killed, according to medical sources and eyewitnesses.

According to reports, the Israeli army struck homes of civilians and tents where displaced Palestinians were sheltering. One of the most devastating strikes hit the Ash-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, where a Palestinian family’s home was bombed. The explosion caused a fire that spread to neighbouring buildings and tents.

According to preliminary data, 10 people were killed, including 5 children, and more than 30 were injured. Three houses were attacked in the town of Deir al-Balah and the Bureij and Nuseirat refugee camps in central Gaza. Four Palestinians, including a father and son, were killed in these strikes.

In the south of the sector, near the Atar intersection west of Khan Younis, an Israeli drone attacked tents housing displaced families. Ten people were killed, including children, and dozens were injured. In addition, two more Palestinians were killed in a strike on a tent in the Numsawe area, also west of Khan Younis.

Israel continues its large-scale military campaign in Gaza, which began in October 2023 and has killed tens of thousands of civilians, according to the UN and human rights organisations.
