Lawsuit alleges ritual abuse by US Police Chief and neighbour

A young woman in the United States has filed a civil lawsuit, accusing her father and a neighbour of long-term abuse. She claims the incidents involved disturbing rituals that took place in nearby woods.

Courtney Tamagny, 20, names her father, Leonia Police Chief Scott Tamagny, and neighbour Kevin Slevin in the lawsuit. According to her account, the abuse began when she was four and continued for over a decade.

As reported by the New York Post, Ms Tamagny alleges both men belonged to a group that practised ritualistic acts. The gatherings, she claims, involved masked individuals, fires, animal harm, and chanting in secluded woodland areas.

She further alleges that both men assaulted her during these events. In addition, she says her father threatened to kill her mother if she ever revealed what had happened.

Memories returned after a medical visit

Ms Tamagny explains that she suppressed the memories for years as a coping mechanism. However, during a medical appointment for unexplained pain, flashbacks began to surface. Her therapist eventually reported the allegations to the authorities in 2022.

In the lawsuit, she also claims that her two sisters experienced similar abuse. She alleges their father used sedatives before the assaults, which occurred while their mother was either asleep or away.

During a podcast appearance on We’re All Insane, Ms Tamagny expanded on her claims. She described involvement from neighbours and extended family members. Notably, she mentioned a so-called “game” called “Hunter and Gatherers”, where children were made to hide in the woods before being pursued by adults.

She also spoke of alleged tunnels beneath the area, ritual burnings, and blood ceremonies. While these claims are detailed, they remain unverified in court.

Defendants deny all allegations

Both Chief Tamagny and Mr Slevin deny any wrongdoing. Their legal teams state that authorities previously investigated the claims and found no supporting evidence.

In response to the lawsuit, Mr Slevin has filed a countersuit for defamation. His lawyer described the allegations as “fantastical”. Chief Tamagny’s representatives also dismissed the claims as “completely false and defamatory”.
