Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he will travel to Washington on 18 August for a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
Zelensky said that Ukraine supports Trump’s proposal for trilateral talks involving the United States, Ukraine, and Russia.
“I will discuss all the details with President Trump in Washington on Monday. I am grateful for the invitation,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian president added that the meeting will cover the United States’ role in supporting Ukraine’s security.
President Trump confirmed that he will meet Zelensky in the Oval Office on Monday, 18 August.
Earlier, Trump held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also spoke with Zelensky and NATO leaders.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham suggested that the conflict in Ukraine could be resolved in the coming months if Russia, Ukraine, and the United States hold negotiations at the highest level.
