Princess Kate, William moving to Forest Lodge in Windsor in pursuit of “fresh start”

Representatives of Kensington Palace confirmed on Monday that the Prince and Princess of Wales will soon move into a new home with their children.

In 2022, the family settled in Adelaide Cottage near Lambrook School, where Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children attend school.

The residence is where the British monarch’s eldest son and his wife experienced recent tragic events and difficult trials: the death of Elizabeth II and cancer diagnoses for Kate and Charles III.

“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind,” The Sun quoted a source close to the Prince and Princess of Wales as saying.

However, the royal couple does not plan to move too far away, as “Windsor has become their home.” So their new residence will be Forest Lodge, located in the heart of the Great Windsor Park. This Georgian-style cottage, with nine bays and Venetian windows, is a Grade II listed building. It is much larger than Adelaide Cottage, with eight bedrooms and an estimated value of approximately $21 million.

According to a source from The Sun, Kate and William hope that Forest Lodge “will be their home forever.” The insider also specifies that the couple will pay all the costs of moving and renovating the house themselves, and British taxpayers will not be affected.

Meanwhile, rumours are circulating online that Kate Middleton has had a cancer relapse. Many have noted that the Princess of Wales has lost a lot of weight.
