Over €500,000 has been donated to help the victims of Thursday’s stabbing in Parnell Square and those who intervened.
Riots broke out in Dublin on Thursday November 23rd in the wake of a stabbing attack outside a school that injured three children and an adult, a post on the GoFundMe page said.
The statement also said any donation is backed by GoFundMe’s “Giving Guarantee,” which protects donors and provides a full guarantee if anything happens: “Our Trust and Safety team is tracking the incident, with all funds on hold until they can get directly to the beneficiary.”
Brazilian Deliveroo driver Caio Benicio intervened during the attack, causing the following ad to appear “Buy Caio Benicio a pint.” Another page called “Support For Children & Carer Attacked In Dublin” raised €210,775, while a fundraiser for a girl fighting for her life after the attack totalled €17,583.
In addition, there is a donation to rebuild a bike shop that was damaged in the incident.
The GoFundMe community is coming together and fundraising to help those hurt in the attack – and a hero bystander who intervened.
