Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) stormed a village in Al Jazirah state, killing about 100 people, according to Sudanese media.
Al Jazirah Governor Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair told local media that the “brutal violations” committed by the RSF in and around Wad Al-Noora constituted a “comprehensive war crime.”
The militias continue their daily war against citizens. They are subjecting people to the harshest forms of torture and looting all their properties.
Since the outbreak of war in mid-April 2023, the Army has maintained control in the northern and eastern states. Meanwhile, the RSF has been operating effectively in the western and southern states of the country.
Efforts by the US and Saudi Arabia, including the Jeddah talks, yielded no tangible results.
According to the UN, the conflict in Sudan has killed more than 16,000 people, displaced some 8.7 million. The war has also left more than 25 million people in need of humanitarian aid, making it one of the world’s biggest crises of displacement and hunger.
