A member of the European Parliament from The Left group, Leïla Chaibi, has been accused by the Alzheimer Europe for “disrespectful” words on dementia, according to Politico.
In a now deleted TikTok video, French MEP Chaibi dismissed correspondence from France Alzheimer and then joked that she had “forgotten” about it. Alzheimer Europe’s Executive Director Jean Georges condemned her behaviour, saying “it is extremely disappointing to see this kind of disrespectful ‘joke.'”

A spokesman for Chaibi’s office expressed “sincere” regrets and said the video had been removed, before inviting the president of France Alzheimer’s to a meeting.
