Israel’s military is continuing its fierce battle against Hamas militants after an attack on its borders on Saturday morning.

As the clashes between the forces of the state of Israel and Hamas keep on, the contradictions and atrocities between the Arab world and the Israelis are increasing, not only at the point of touch.

Two Israeli tourists and a local Egyptian sightseeing guide were murdered at a tourist site in Alexandria, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.

It later emerged that the perpetrator turned out to be a police officer and used a personal firearm to shoot at Israeli tourists in the Pompeian Pillar area of Alexandria.

This morning during a tourist visit of a group of Israelis in Alexandria, Egypt, a local opened fired on them, as a result of which two Israeli citizens and the local Egyptian guide were murdered, said Israel’s foreign ministry

Egypt is the first Arab country to normalize relations with Israel, but the close energy and security cooperation between the two states still makes it unclear what exactly is meant by normalized relations. Many Egyptians continue to express sympathy for Palestine.

“No justification whatsoever for deliberately targeting Israeli civilians in Egypt, Gaza or anywhere else,” said Amr Magdi, researcher with Human Rights Watch.
