Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov met in Turkey’s Antalya on Saturday, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said on social network X.
“On April 12, 2025, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met in Antalya on the margins of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum,” the report said.
The sides discussed the state of affairs in the organisational process after the completion of the text of the agreement on peace and establishment of interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Ministers of both countries expressed readiness to continue the dialogue.
On April 9, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that he is ready to start steps to build trust with Armenia. According to him, it is difficult to imagine Azerbaijan and Armenia becoming friendly states, and it is premature to talk about economic integration. He also added that Baku is ready to start making small steps towards building trust with Yerevan.
On March 13, Yerevan and Baku concluded negotiations on agreeing on the text of the peace treaty. The last two points that the sides managed to agree on were the non-deployment of third countries’ forces on the common border and mutual renunciation of lawsuits in international courts.
The last time the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan also met in Turkey. They held bilateral talks on October 18, 2024 in Istanbul on the margins of the “3+3” regional consultative platform meeting.
