High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, criticised the lack of aid to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, telling the UN Security Council that hunger was being used as a “war arm,” according to Arab media.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the EU official has repeatedly criticised Israel for its actions in the Gaza war, which has so far killed over 31,000 Palestinians.
“When we look for alternative ways of providing support, by sea or by air, we have to remind that we have to do it because the natural way of providing support through roads is being closed, artificially closed. Starvation is being used as a war arm.”
