A Canadian swimmer set a new world record in the 200-metre medley on Tuesday.
Three-time Olympic champion at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh set a new world record in the 200-metre medley with a time of 2 minutes 5.7 seconds. She achieved this during the Canadian trials for the 2025 World Championships, which will be held in Singapore.
The previous world record was held by three-time Olympic champion Katinka Hosszu of Hungary with a time of 2 minutes 6.12 seconds. It was set at the 2015 World Championships in Kazan.
The World Aquatics Championships in Singapore will take place from July 11 to August 3. The swimming competitions will be held from July 27 to August 3.
