Ceasefire undermined as Israeli drone strike kills Palestinian in central Gaza

A Palestinian man has been killed in an Israeli drone strike in the Gaza Strip on Friday, despite the fragile ceasefire that came into force in October 2025, raising further questions about the durability of the truce.

The Israeli military continues to carry out near-daily attacks across various areas of Gaza, even as a ceasefire officially remains in place.

According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli forces targeted the al-Mughraqa area in the central part of the enclave using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). One Palestinian was killed in the ensuing missile strike.

Official figures released since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025 show that 933 Palestinians have been killed and 2,868 others injured as a result of Israeli attacks.

Since October 2023, the overall death toll from Israeli military action in Gaza has reached 72,942, with 172,967 people reported wounded.
