China condemns Molotov cocktail attack on the Cuban embassy

China on Tuesday urged the United States to ensure the security of diplomatic missions and personnel following the attack on the Cuban embassy in Washington, according to Anadolu Ajansi.

A Foreign Ministry representative responded to reports of a “terrorist attack” on the Cuban embassy in Washington by saying Washington should find out the truth, solve the case as soon as possible and take practical and effective measures to ensure the safety of diplomatic institutions and staff, the state-run Global Times reported.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla reports that the Cuban Embassy in Washington, D.C., was “the target of a terrorist attack Sunday night by a man who launched 2 Molotov cocktails.” Parrilla wrote on X:

“Embassy staff “suffered no harm” and “details are being worked out. This is the second violent attack against Cuba’s diplomatic mission.”

Jake Sullivan, the White House national security adviser, strongly condemned reports of the attack on the Cuban embassy and said attacks on diplomatic targets were unacceptable. He said:

“We are in contact with Cuban Embassy officials and law enforcement authorities to ensure an appropriate and timely investigation as well as to offer our support for future protective efforts.”
