North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui met with senior Chinese diplomat Sun Weidong on a visit to Pyongyang, North Korean state media reported.
Choe met Friday with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, who is visiting North Korea this week, according to KCNA.
The visit and the meeting mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. The two sides reaffirmed their desire to “continue strengthening tactical cooperation to defend common core interests,” KCNA said.
The visit was a response to North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Pak Myong Ho’s December visit to China.
