Crown Prince Christian joined lieutenant training course

Crown Prince Christian has now officially become a Guards Hussar after completing Exercise REX.

The exercise lasted for 4 days and was divided into two 48 hour parts. During the exercise, soldiers were placed in conditions as close to real combat as possible.

Before leaving the barracks, the Crown Prince and his fellow recruits were given one field ration per person, which was to be sufficient for the entire duration of the exercise. It contains 3,700 calories and is initially designed to last for one day. The field ration consists of frozen meals and long-life snacks.

During the exercise, the Crown Prince travelled 65 kilometres with full equipment weighing 30 kg, including weapons and ammunition, along the way he also had to wade through water and crawl about 100 metres under a low barbed wire obstacle.

Christian, as deputy platoon leader, also participated in additional patrols and reconnaissance missions during the exercise. During the 24-hour period, each soldier was allowed a 2-hour sleep break.

In conjunction with his initial military service in the Guards Hussar Regiment, the Crown Prince was enrolled in the Lieutenant Training Course. The training will begin in early August and will last for one year.

The Crown Prince will complete his current military service with the Guards Hussar Regiment at the end of May.
