Elon Musk calls for peace talks amid risks of World War III outbreak

The head of former Twitter S stated that World War III could arise either because of the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip or because of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Musk spoke out about the world situation on his platform X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.

We need to figure out peace in Ukraine, and I think we need to restore normal relations with Russia.

The billionaire called preventing war a key priority of global politics.

“World War III is a civilizational risk that we may not recover from, so we need to prioritize avoiding World War III; that’s what actually matters. And not what happened in World War I and have a regional conflict rapidly become a global conflict.”

The discussion was hosted by Silicon Valley entrepreneur David Sacks and featured Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, whom Musk may endorse.

Ukrainian officials have repeatedly rejected Musk’s proposals to end the war, which would potentially lead to the transfer of vast territories from one state to another. Ukrainian diplomat Andriy Melnyk responded to his offer to cede to Russia as follows:

F*** off is my very diplomatic reply to you @elonmusk.

The Tesla and SpaceX owner supported Ukraine by providing his Starlink satellite internet network to support the armed forces.

Last month, Senator Elizabeth Warren and two Democratic colleagues asked US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin to explain Musk’s role in preventing Ukraine from using Starlink terminals to attack Russian ships.

Musk also stated that an alliance between Russia, China and Iran could challenge the economic influence of the United States.

“We do not have an overwhelming advantage in industrial might. The foundation of war is economic power, especially industrial output, basically how many tanks and guns and drones can you make, relative to the other side.”
