Elon Musk wants to file lawsuit the Anti-Defamation League for “roughly $22billion” for trying to ruin X by accusing him and the social media giant of being anti-Semitic. In a list of his tweets sent out Monday night, Musk, 52, claimed he plans to sue against the ADL “to clear our platform’s name on the matter of anti-Semitism,” according to MailOnline.
Elon Musk wrote:
“It looks like we have no choice but to file a defamation lawsuit against the Anti-Defamation League … oh the irony! In our case, they would potentially be on the hook for destroying half the value of the company, so roughly $22 billion”.
There was a report the app’s value had dropped to one-third of what it was when Musk acquired it in October – from $45 billion to $15 billion in six months. Musk’s battle against the ADL began Monday morning when he called out the organization for being responsible for the company’s quickly falling profits. There was a message in his tweet:
“Since the acquisition, The @ADL has been trying to kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic, Our US advertising revenue is still down 60 per cent, primarily due to pressure on advertisers by @ADL (that’s what advertisers tell us), so they almost succeeded in killing X/Twitter”.
He shared his idea that ADL is responsible for as much as 50 percent of Twitter’s fallen value – “almost $22 billion,” Musk wrote in another tweet.
Musk may believe that the ADL has called on advertisers not to use X over Musk’s relaxing of rules around hate speech and harassment. Some Jewish users online have claimed to see an uptick in anti-Semitic tweets that go unpunished by Musk and anyone else at X. In response to the accusations of rampant anti-Semitism on the platform, the Chief Twit vehemently denied letting hate speech run free on his app.
Earlier that day, Musk answered to a tweet from X News Daily showing that X’s advertising revenue in the US is down by around 60 percent. There was a message that the advertising revenue decrease is a “significant factor behind X’s continuing issues with achieving profitability”. He wrote in his tweet:
“To be super clear, I’m pro free speech, but against anti-Semitism of any kind”.
Despite his continuing struggle, Musk claimed he is not going to ban ADL from X. F movement to ‘#BanTheADL’ has emerged from some of Musk’s most devoted followers after his avalanche of tweets about the organization.
The CEO took part in writing tweets that are part of the movement but pointed online that he is not going to ban them anytime soon. He wrote:
“Despite the immense harm ADL has done to X/Twitter, they still will not be banned in this platform, unless they break the law”.
it is not still certain whether or not Musk and his lawyers have lodged an initial complaint against the organization.
