EU approved 13th sanctions package against Russia

The European Union approved the 13th package of sanctions against Russia on Wednesday, Reuters reported, citing citing a statement from the EU’s Belgian presidency.

EU Ambassadors just agreed in principle on a 13th package of sanctions in the framework of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The Belgian Presidency called the measures “one of the broadest approved by the EU.” About 200 entities and individuals will be included in the new sanctions list, with no new industry-specific restrictive measures.

The package will be formally approved on 24 February, the second anniversary of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
