Eurozone industrial production edges up in February

Industrial production in the eurozone in February 2025 increased by 1.1% compared to January, when the indicator increased by 0.6%, according to Eurostat data. Compared to February 2024, industrial production increased by 1.2%.

In the 27-country EU, industrial production increased by 1% in February compared to the previous month, after rising by 0.1% a month earlier. In annual terms, the indicator increased by 0.6%.

The production of durable goods in February compared to January decreased by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.4% in the EU. Energy output decreased by 0.2% in the euro area and increased by 0.8% in the EU. Production of intermediate goods rose 0.3% in the euro area and 0.1% in the EU. The production of capital goods increased by 0.8% in the euro area and 0.9% in the EU.

The largest month-on-month increases in industrial production were recorded in Ireland (10.8%), Belgium (7.4%) and Luxembourg (6.3%). The largest decrease was observed in Croatia (-3.9%), Greece (-3.6%) and Romania (-2.1%).

In annual terms, the largest increases were observed in Ireland (38.8 per cent), Lithuania (9.1 per cent) and Luxembourg (6.6 per cent). The most significant decreases were observed in Hungary (-8.0%), Bulgaria (-4.7%) and Germany (-3.7%).
