They died on September 13 due to the premature detonation of a bomb targeting Israeli troops at the Gaza Strip border fence, FDD reported.
The explosion was detected by an Israelis surveillance plane. The incident occurred during a violent Palestinian demonstration. Soldiers attempted to disperse the demonstrators, injuring at least two dozen Palestinians.
Recently, the number of attempts to repeat the riots at the fence in Gaza, which Hamas organised in 2018 and 2019, has increased. The Palestinian Islamist movement intended to use the protests to divert attention from President Trump’s relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.
FDD CEO Mark Dubowitz accused Hamas of using civilians as cannon fodder.
“The 2018-19 fence riots exacted a heavy price on the Palestinians, with scores killed and many others injured by defensive Israeli fire. Such was the cynicism of Hamas: a terrorist group whose die-hard hostility forced Israel to fortify the border, sending young people as human shields to storm that border in the guise of protesters.”
Enia Krivine, Senior Director of FDD’s Israel Program and National Security Network, condemned Hamas’ massacre of Gaza demonstrations protesting its leadership.
This is clearly a move to channel the anger and frustration of the people of Gaza against Israel, when the real culprit of their misery is the corrupt terror organisation that rules the enclave.
