Fog disrupted airport operations in London

Travellers at some of the UK’s busiest airports face constant disruption as thick fog continues to disrupt flight schedules during the busy holiday travel period.

Heavy fog has disrupted operations at London’s Gatwick International Airport for the third day. A total of 58 flights have now been cancelled at the airport.

A Gatwick spokesman urged passengers to make sure to check if their flight has been cancelled before leaving for the airport. The same statement was made by the low-cost airline EasyJet. It is ready to provide passengers with meals and hotels.

Currently, thick fog has descended on most British airports, resulting in numerous flight cancellations and delays. Christmas holidays for tens of thousands of passengers have been disrupted.

According to the UK Meteorological Office, visibility may drop to 100 metres in some areas.
