Several agents from the Secret Service are currently facing threats, while former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has been assigned a security detail following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, CNN reported.
In the wake of the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on the Republican presidential candidate, Secret Service agents have been encountering threats. While the threats are under the service’s scrutiny, it still remains unclear what security measures have entered.
Cheatle, who stepped down from her role last month amid criticism from lawmakers, and the agency itself have faced significant backlash for their failures in ensuring security on the day of the shooting at Trump. This has resulted in Cheatle receiving personal protection, a step that is not typical for the Secret Service.
Following the shooting, the media and some Republican figures have criticised several female agents who were responsible for Trump’s protection that day, arguing that they were unable to defend the former president due to their smaller stature.
