Former Ukrainian general tells Ukrainian soldiers: “Learn not to be afraid of death”

Ukraine ‘s ambassador to London and former commander-in-chief of its army, Valery Zaluzhny, has told Ukrainian military personnel training in the UK that they have little chance of surviving on the battlefield, The Sun reports.

Zaluzhny visited a military base in eastern England where Ukrainian soldiers are training. Addressing members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) at a military base in the eastern part of the United Kingdom, he said:

“Remember that war becomes more cruel every day. It leaves almost no chance of survival. But war will be afraid of those that are ready to join it. Learn not to be afraid of death, not to be afraid to look the enemy in the eye.”

According to Zaluzhny, the armed conflict leaves these fighters with almost no chance of survival. The former Ukrainian military chief added:

He added:

“Please learn this here: Love each other. And remember Ukraine. If you are gone, maybe someone else will take your place, but Ukraine must be preserved.”

The popular General Zaluzhny has headed Ukraine’s defence since the start of the military conflict in February 2022 .

However, he was sacked by President Volodymyr Zelensky after he warned last year that the war was at a stalemate.

And after President Zelensky accused the general of political ambitions, he was appointed ambassador to London.
