Israel’s Nations League football match against host France next month would be played in “usual conditions,” French authorities announced.
The statement came a day after Italy hosted Israel in the same competition despite security concerns and without any incident.
Laurent Nuñez, the Paris police prefect, said the match at the Stade de France on 14 November would be played “under the usual conditions for a Nations League match and will of course be open to the public.”
Italy beat Israel 4-1 in the Nations League on Monday. The game was played against the backdrop of the ongoing war in the Middle East, which has spread to Lebanon and could escalate further.
Since the war broke out between Israel and Hamas on 7 October last year, all matches of the Israeli national team were played in Hungary, including a game against Belgium in the Nations League last month. The event took place after the Belgian Football Association refused to host the game due to security concerns.
