Global leaders congratulate Trump for presidential victory

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has congratulated Donald Trump on his expected victory in the US presidential election, calling it “the biggest comeback in US political history.” Orbán expressed his enthusiasm on social media, emphasising that Trump’s victory is “a much-needed victory for the whole world.”

Trump’s anticipated success prompted congratulations from leaders around the world. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised Trump for his commitment to a “peace through strength” approach, which he believes will maintain strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the US. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed his willingness to work with Trump again to ensure the strength of the alliance.

French President Emmanuel Macron also expressed his congratulations, pledging to work with Trump for continued peace and prosperity. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, recognising the strong ties between the UK and the US, stressed the shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni echoed these words, emphasising the historic and strategic relationship between Italy and the US.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer also expressed his congratulations, pledging to strengthen transatlantic relations and work with the US to address global challenges.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić posted a picture with Trump on social media, expressing his hope for “stability, prosperity and peace.”

In Poland, President Andrzej Duda celebrated Trump’s victory, while Dutch politician Geert Wilders shared his delight, calling it a victory of patriotism and freedom. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala expressed his hope for continued strong relations with the US, while British MP Nigel Farage marvelled at Trump’s incredible political comeback.

In addition to European leaders, international figures such as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Trump, emphasising the importance of strengthening global partnerships. Netanyahu called Trump’s return to the White House a new chapter in US-Israeli relations, while Modi expressed hope for renewed co-operation between India and the US.

China reacted cautiously, expressing hope for peaceful co-existence with the US under Trump’s leadership. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said the country would continue to build relations based on mutual respect and co-operation.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election in his X social media account, while expressing hope for close co-operation.

New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon called the US an important partner and said he was looking forward to building bilateral co-operation.

As the global public is receiving feedback, Trump’s victory has already sparked optimism among his supporters and right-wing allies around the world, marking the beginning of a new political era.
