Yemen’s Houthis shot down a US MQ-9 drone over al-Jawf neighbourhood on Wednesday.
Yahya Sarea, a military spokesman for the Houthis, published a video on social media, noting that the US is constantly targeting Yemen and “committing massacres against the Yemeni people.”
“Our air defences shot down an American MQ-9 drone, in the skies over al-Jawf with a locally made missile,” Sarea said.
According to a spokesman for the movement, the drone was the 18th one shot down by the defence forces during the battle of “Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad” and the third in the last 10 days.
The cost of each drone is more than $30 million.
The Houthis will continue their actions in support of Gaza until the Israeli attacks are over, and intend to respond to the strikes on Yemen, Sarea added. He also said the day before that US strikes targeting the Emin Muqbil settlement in the western Yemeni city of Hodeidah killed six people and wounded 16.
