As Israel announced a “total blockade” of the enclave, users of website X are calling on Elon Musk to install high-speed internet in the Gaza Strip using his Starlink satellites.
The UN General Assembly recently overwhelmingly supported a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and humanitarian access to the area (the US and Israel voted against).
As a consequence of this conclusion, some 100,000 demonstrators will march through London on Saturday calling for an immediate ceasefire while Israel continues to bombard the enclave.
The World Health Organization has also said it cannot supply fuel and medicine to Gaza due to ” a lack of security guarantees”.
Musk had earlier granted Starlink internet to Ukraine, now social media users are expecting him to make the same decision regarding Gaza. Without denying, however, at the same time he stated that “no terminals from Gaza have attempted to communicate with our constellation. SpaceX will support communication links with internationally recognised aid organizations.”
