The speaker of Iran’s parliament has declared that Tehran’s proposed roadmap for resolving the conflict with the US is the only viable option, warning that any delay by Washington will ultimately be borne by American taxpayers.
The plan presented by Iran to the American side to resolve the conflict has no alternative, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has said.
“There is no choice but to recognise the rights of the Iranian people as set out in the 14-point proposal. Any other approach will be utterly futile – nothing more than a series of failures,” Ghalibaf wrote on the social media platform X.
He added that the longer Washington “procrastinates, the more American taxpayers will end up paying for it.”
Earlier, the US president, Donald Trump, said he had not bothered to read Iran’s proposal to the end, dismissing it as a “pile of rubbish.”
Trump stressed that the current ceasefire regime was extremely fragile. At the same time, the American leader claimed that he himself possessed “the best plan in the world” for dealing with Iran.
