Iranian media: Helicopter carrying Iran’s president experiences hard landing

Iran’s state television reported that a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi made a hard landing on Sunday.

The incident occurred as the helicopter was travelling through northwestern Iran. According to Iranian television, various members of the convoy have been contacted, but there is still no information on casualties.

“Some of the president’s companions on this helicopter were able to communicate with Central Headquarters, raising hopes that the incident could have ended without casualties,” Tasnim news agency reported.

Although rescuers were immediately dispatched to the scene, difficult weather conditions and heavy fog hampered rescue efforts, state television reported.

In addition to Raisi, several other officials were in the helicopter, including Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Al-Hashem, Tabriz’s Friday Prayer Imam, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, state news agency IRNA reported.
